Learning Support

At An Cosán, our approach to Community Education is grounded in lifelong learning, self-determination, leadership development, and inclusiveness. We believe in empowering learners, involving the community, and making sure services are responsive and connected. Laura is our Learning Support Coordinator. She provides academic and assessment support across Access, Further, and Higher Education programmes, while also offering peer support spaces for Tutors and Classroom Assistants. 

Her work is guided by the theme “No Mud, No Lotus” – a reminder that your life experience and skills are valuable as an adult learner. 

Direct supports available include: 

• Study skills 

• Time management and learning goals 

• Reading and writing skills 

• Understanding your assignments 

• Planning and structuring assignments 

• Resourcing and referencing 

• Proofreading and final checks 

In addition to academic support, Laura is also the go-to person for holistic supports in Adult and Community Education. She can connect learners with the right services at the right time, including: 

• Counselling 

• Coaching 

• IT and Digital Skills support 

• Employment and Skills support
